HMD Global is planning with grandeur for 2020 with a handful of new launches. The Finnish company might be working on wireless charging pods and its foldable phone like the Motorola revolutionized in coming late 2020.
But the actual fuss is going to be about Nokia 9.2. Yes! You heard it right. After the success of Nokia 9 Pure View which gobsmacked us all with the Penta lens camera arrangement, Nokia is continuing the series by launching Nokia 9.2. Earlier it was rumored that Nokia 9.1 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 was to be launched in early 2020 and now since Nokia fans on twitter being chirpy about Nokia 9.2 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, it is assumed that Nokia 9.1 idea has been dropped by the HMD global. Also, Nokia 9.2 was expected to launch in the first half of 2020.
Leaks and Rumors
Very recently a tipster Nokia_anew on twitter tweeted that the Finnish company is working on developing the under-display Selfie camera for the Nokia 9.2 which will be a new plus brush aiding the punch hole cameras and pop up cameras. The person also claims that the tech is still in its incipient stages and the prototype is still under production. Also, the person states that the solution has its downsides because the area is said to be visible in the sun and there does not seem to be 100 percent clarity yet.
Unlike Nokia 9 Pure view which had a camera manufactured from Zeiss with whom Nokia collaborated to bring the Nokia 9 PureView with five-camera shooters and a baroque light camera technology which used a very complicated algorithm to procure a single shot by involving all five cameras, Nokia 9.2 might be lacking the same. Yes, Nokia 9.2 won’t be having Zeiss cameras and is rumored to return to the basic and conventional Toshiba lenses.
All New Cameras
Nokia 9.2 is expected to have five camera shooters of 13 megapixels each at the rear end and 48 megapixels as a front under-display camera with display six 6 inches accompanying pixel density of 490 PPI, P-OLED display and a 4500 mAh battery with 27W fast charging. The processor currently expected is Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 octa-core with Adreno 650 graphics, however, every other company is working on the same.
So with postpone of the launch, Nokia has time to surprise us all by working on a more advanced processor. The phone might have an on-screen fingerprint sensor along with other featuring sensors being gyroscope, Proximity sensor, light sensor, Accelerometer and of course the compass. The Nokia 9.2 is also reported to have a bezel-less display, no wire charging and might lack a 3.5 mm jack port.
Since it seems that Nokia 9.2 will be emerging from the ashes of its dead phoenix parent of Nokia 9 Pureview line, we hope that Nokia continues to experiment the technology because for what the struggles it’s going to endure today will become again the “good old howdy glory days” tomorrow for Nokia to cherish.
