The Oppo’s new phone has snatched the title of the slimmest phone in the world from Gionee S 5.1. But the title remains only in china. Another Chinese company Vivo is also planning to launch its new phone which they claim that it will be slimmer than R5 and S 5.1. Till then let’s talk about R5.
Talking about its design, the phone looks very premium. Smoothness on the back of metal feels really nice. Its edges are made of stainless steel which gives it a unique look and makes it lighter. The phone weighs 155 grams. It comes with 5.2 inches screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The phone has a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is a relief. The phone is only available in white/grey variant.

The phone comes with Android 4.4.4. Kitkat version. The phone is powered by Qualcomm MSM 8939 Snapdragon. The phone has four 1.5 GHz Cortex -A 53 cores and 1.0 GHz Cortex-A 53 cores. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory space. The internal memory is not expandable. The phone has a 13 MP of primary camera with Sony Exmore sensor and 5 MP of secondary camera. The back camera captures good quality of photos with good detailing and better zoom quality. Color temperature also remains good. HDR mode of the camera is quite impressive. Even in low light conditions it captures good quality photos. The front camera is more than enough to capture selfies. It captures good quality photos with good color reproduction.
The phone comes with 2000 mAH of battery. The battery backup of R5 is not that much good as S 5.1 the phone lost charge quickly than S 5.1 in standby mode. But the battery can be charged very quickly up to 75% only in 30 minutes. Thus, the phone is quite impressive. The only issues about the phone are its battery backup and heating problems. The camera quality is good; design is impressive and is solidly build. The current price of R5 is Rs. 29, 990.
